SPUS-PSNA ADVOCATES VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION

In adherence to Republic Act No. 7719 known as the National Blood Services Act of 1994 that promotes voluntary blood donation to provide a sufficient supply of safe blood and to regulate blood banks, the Health Services Office and the Paulinian Student-Nurses Association (PSNA) successfully conducted a two-day Bloodletting Activity on February 10-11, 2023 at the SPUS Main Clinic and Surigao City Luneta Park.

During the first day, the SPUS Main Campus Clinic was open from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN for employees and students who are willing to take part in the said endeavor.

Meanwhile, on the second day, student-nurses and volunteers opened the bloodletting activity to the public at the Luneta Park Kiosk.

Prior to the actual Bloodletting Activity, Ms. Ivan Rich Gealogo, RMT, Ms. Ivy Christy Perez, RM, and Mr. Jesus Christopher Patiño, the Caraga Regional Hospital-Blood Bank representatives, held a short conference at the Pope Francis Hall to share their advocacy on the call for voluntary blood donation to provide safe blood to those who need and help regulate blood banks.

The Bloodletting Activity was a joint project of the Paulinian Student Nurses Association of St. Paul University Surigao, University Health Services Office and Caraga Regional Hospital.
