DOT TAPS SPUS FOR FBSE TRAINING

In line with the program of the Department of Tourism (DOT) called Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) which aims to train partners, stakeholders and members of academic institutions offering Tourism Management Program, a two-day seminar-workshop was conducted on Feb 15-16, 2023, at Pope Francis Conference Hall, St. Paul University Surigao Main Campus.

 

The two-day event was participated by 105 BS Tourism and Hospitality Management students as they are considered the frontliners of Tourism. Alongside the students are the members of the teaching force of the College of Business Education headed by the dean, Dr. Eric Villamar. 

 

DOT-accredited trainer, Mr. Richard “Ricky” Amores served as the resource speaker for the two-day FBSE Training.

 

"Our goal is to invest [on] people; make the Filipino tourism workforce ready for a changed world," Mr. Amores said during his talk. The main goal of FBSE is to standardize everything that is good and positive about Filipino hospitality and service that can be used by all tourism stakeholders in dealing with domestic or international tourists.

 

Newly-appointed DOT Regional Director, Mrs .Ivonnie B. Dumadag, EnP., CECE, expressed her gratitude to St. Paul University Surigao for taking part in the said endeavor and reminded the trainees the essence of the FBSE Training for future tourism touchpoint.
